NEW Monthly PEN Drop-In Group for Parents!
As parents of kids with learning and attention differences who often need a lot of support we sometimes are better at taking care of others than we are at tending to our own self-care. PEN in collaboration with family therapist Elisabeth Corsale of Pathways Institute is piloting a space for parents of students with learning and attention differences to meet once a month to support each other on the journey of insuring that our kids get what they need to find academic and life success.
Each month's meeting will have a specific theme for exploration but we invite you to also bring what you are experiencing in your own lives so that you can feel nourished and connected to other parents going through similar experiences.
This parent Drop-In Group is intended to be an affinity space for PARENTS with students with learning and attention differences. As such we ask that our community members who are professionals in the field of learning differences honor this intention and refrain from attending these meetings unless they plan to do so in their capacity as parents of students with learning and attention differences.
This group is not a space to advertise services.
Meetings are the last Friday of each month and are scheduled from 11:30am-1pm. All meetings will be held at 110 Gough Street, Suite 401, San Francisco, CA 94102. Because space is limited, pre-registration is requested. Registration closes at 5pm the evening before the meeting. Attendees must sign up for each of the four meeting individually even if they plan to attend all four in the series.
*If registration is full, please contact PEN Deputy Executive Director Prasant Nukalapati at firstname.lastname@example.org to add your name to the waitlist.
